With wins at The Seattle Film Festival, Newdoc New York, Frameline San Francisco and Outfest in LA, the Topp Twins movie continues to amass accolades.

Leanne Pooley’s documentary Topp Twins-Untouchable Girls continues to win prizes around the world. To add to a growing list this past week the documentary won “Best International Feature Film” at the Florida Film Festival, as well as the Audience Award for “Best Documentary” at both the Nashville and River Run Film Festivals!

The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls has just won Best Documentary Feature at the Portland International Film Festival.

The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls has scooped the Audience Dragon Award for Best Feature Film at the Gothenburg Film Festival in Sweden. This covered all films at the festival, both drama and documentary.

“Topp Twins – Untouchable Girls” has won another international award, this time at the Pacific Film Festival in Tahiti.

“Topp Twins-Untouchable Girls” has been nominated for a GLAAD Award. The Glaads are often referred to as the Gay Oscars! GLAAD stands for Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. Their mission is to promote and ensure fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation. The GLAAD Media Awards are in their 21st year.

The multi-award winning, New Zealand box office hit, “Topp Twins-Untouchable Girls” opens at cinemas around Australia on November 26th. Rialto Distribution who handled the hugely successful New Zealand release is also the Australian distributor.

Two films directed by Leanne Pooley appear in the new publication “100 Essential New Zealand Films”. The book published by Awa Press documents over a hundred years of New Zealand image making and includes short films, experimental works as well as tele-features and theatrical films. Pooley’s documentaries “Haunting Douglas” and “Topp Twins-Untouchable Girls” are both featured with the former appearing in the author’s top ten list.

Leanne Pooley’s film Topp Twins-Untouchable Girls has won the Cadillac People’s Choice Award for Best Documentary at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Having received a standing ovation at its premiere the film garnered rave reviews in various publications including Variety.

Topp Twins – Untouchable Girls took away two awards at this year’s New Zealand Film & Television Awards.  The prize for “Best Music in a Feature Film” went to Jools and Lynda, and the film won “Best Feature Film” (budget under $1,000,000).
